Utilities Support Maintenance Technician

The Kraft Heinz Company is currently seeking a Utilities Support Maintenance Technician to work at our production facility in Mason City, IA. Ideal candidates must be safety and quality-orientated and be willing to work in a team-orientated, fast-paced work environment. Utilities Support Technicians are responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintenance of all plant stationary power equipment systems. This includes boiler steam generation, industrial refrigeration, compressed air, vacuum, wastewater treatment, and water supply systems. Repair and maintain utility lines up to the main shut-off. Perform water checks and collect samples to determine appropriate standards to comply with local and federal regulations. Member of the facility’s Spill Response Team. Communicate effectively with co-workers to ensure minimal interruptions in production. Responsible for preventative maintenance and sanitation in the work area.
Minimum Qualifications
· Must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or GED equivalent
· Candidates must be willing to work 12-hour rotating shifts alternating days and nights,
including weekends
· Ability to work overtime as necessary
Preferred Qualifications
· Previous experience as an industrial technician in a manufacturing environment with industrial refrigeration, boiler and/or automation experience.
· Strong electrical, mechanical and/or automation skills

Compensation Overview
· Starting rate ranging from $26.81/hour to $33.98/hr. based on technical knowledge and experience.
· Eligibility for overtime compensation
Work Schedule:
· 12-hour rotating shifts alternating days and nights, including weekends and holidays
Job Overview:
Utilities Support Technicians are responsible for identifying necessary maintenance in the work order or defect tracking program, preventive maintenance tasks, conducting routine maintenance routes, and teaching/assisting operators in troubleshooting and equipment.
Responsibilities & Duties:
Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:
· Operate/maintain equipment in Utilities in a safe and efficient manner
· Independently problem-solve repairs and breakdowns in the Utilities area
· Help other operators develop their maintenance skills when appropriate
· Repair or replace materials and equipment for daily plant operations
· Determine operational/mechanical failures in Utility areas, including boiler operations, ECF, refrigeration, and compressed air equipment. Required participation in Root Cause Failure Analysis for production outages caused by utility equipment
· Perform assigned planned work repairs, and preventive and predictive activities in a quality manner. Identification of preventive and predictive work should be a continuous improvement process that leads to reduced equipment failures. The Utilities Support Operator will provide feedback about assigned tasks that will improve the equipment database and the quality of the tasks in SAP
· Lead major equipment rebuilds as assigned utilizing the skills of others assigned to assist. Planned and scheduled work is most efficiently and effectively accomplished on day shifts. Others with fewer skills will assist in both improving their skill levels and accomplishing the work
· Install new equipment and support capital projects as assigned
· Get/kit parts from Stores as needed. CMMS is the tool used to document equipment data and asset care information, which is continuously upgraded as part of the change management process. The Utilities Support Operator will utilize SAP to identify and locate parts for assigned tasks
· Participate in identifying repetitive equipment failures and participate in the resolution of issues as a subject matter expert. Everyone in the plant should identify needed work. The Utilities Support Operator will, in the course of performing assigned tasks, identify equipment condition issues that need to be addressed
· Work actively to acquire the skills needed to conduct equipment maintenance tasks plant-wide, and to maintain those skills
· Conduct the second effort at troubleshooting to identify equipment issues and perform emergency equipment repairs. Provide coaching to other operators to improve their troubleshooting skills
· Daily completion of all required paperwork including but not limited to wastewater sampling, Utilities Gemba walks, boiler testing, ammonia engine room logs, ODS Freon logs, and PSM paperwork
· Required involvement in the PSM program including following all PSM required procedures, training, equipment maintenance, meeting attendance, annual respirator fit test, and any other duties that are part of this OSHA/EPA regulated mandatory program
· Required/mandatory training that must be completed including but not limited to Initial Utilities Support, EPA 608 Technician, Cleaver Brooks Boiler Essentials, Ammonia Refrigeration Operator 1, and HAZMAT First Responder Operations training
