Plant Overview:
- Non-union plant employing 280 employees across 3 shifts.
- Purchased in 1934 from Breyer’s Ice Cream and began producing caramel in 1935.
- Began producing Marshmallows and Marshmallow Crème in 1961 and Marbits (think dehydrated marshmallows found in cereal) in 1979.
- Kendallville is the sole producer of all our product lines.
Community Overview:
- Kendallville is located about 30 minutes north of Fort Wayne and offers a small-town community.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- General knowledge of maintenance safety programs and standards.
- Self-motivated and strong drive for results.
- Able to read, interpret, and understand applicable hydraulic blueprints and schematics accurately.
- Able to troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, and steam systems.
- Perform preventative maintenance checks on equipment and facilities; Troubleshoot equipment and facilities problems and repair facility equipment such as, but not limited to HVAC and associated equipment.
- Perform maintenance on ammonia systems and follow Kraft Heinz policies outlined in PSM program.
- Able to efficiently perform plumbing repairs throughout the plant.
- Ability to repair and perform preventative maintenance to compressors and associated pneumatic systems.
- Be able to perform water testing for cooling towers and associated water treatment systems.
- Responsible for accurately maintaining operator logs associated with ammonia operations and PSM program.
- Able to take initiative and work independently to accomplish position objectives.
- Able to work any scheduled overtime as needed.
- Able to function effectively in a team environment; Able to get along with others.
- Perform an emergency stop as necessary; Follow all “Lock Out/Tag Out” procedures and policies.
- Report all safety concerns and potential hazards to a supervisor/team lead.
- Use SAP to track and maintain orders and time worked.
Qualifications:
- General operational knowledge of HVAC, Ammonia Control Systems, Steam Systems, Plumbing systems, and pneumatic systems.
- Must be able to operate and hold a certification to operate all equipment associated with the daily operations of ammonia functions and steam production throughout the facility.
- Associates degree in a maintenance-related field or a minimum of three (3) years manufacturing maintenance experience required.
- Self-motivated and strong drive for results.
- Use simple mathematics.
- Lift 50 pounds.
- Able to climb a ladder.
- Able to work in areas that contain dust and starch particles.
- Able to work in hot and humid conditions.
- Basic knowledge of manufacturing and/or food processing, quality standards, hygiene, work safety, etc. preferred.
Benefits & Compensation Overview:
- Starting Pay: 29.75/hour, Skilled Pay: 32.60/hour

Work Schedule:
- 3rd Shift (Sunday-Thursday 22:30pm-6:30am)
- Daily/Weekly overtime possible
