Primary Purpose:
- Days and shift times vary.
Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for maintaining quality standards by checking quality of seals, code dates, labels, packaging of product, weights, odor, color, temperature of product, etc.
- Responsible for accurately inserting components in cartons, taking weights, and accurately recording data.
- Responsible for ensuring accurate supplies are used.
- Stacking at end of line on skid; requires constant reaching, bending, and twisting.
- Operate packing or filling equipment.
- Recordkeeping as required on manual, computer, and other systems.
- Ensures that housekeeping and Kraft quality standards are maintained in the work area
- General housekeeping duties include sweeping, bending, pickup up trash, lifting trash bags filled with trash, picking up cheese bags!
- Operates material handling equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
- Performs variety of sanitation and maintenance-type functions.
- Must check product and fill out quality documentation.
- Peel out and salvage rejected product.
- Follow GMP’s outlined in handbook.
- Willing to collaborate with others on the line – “Teamwork”.
- Will perform either production or sanitation jobs.
- Will work on 1st floor, 2nd floor, 3rd floor, grinding room, coolers, production areas, and SCOF areas.
- Performs sanitation duties when required.
- Must be willing to be an active participant in Safety and Efficiency Improvement Teams.
- Performs other duties as advised by the Leadership Team.
- Must maintain equipment by applying the KHMS system and settings.
- Complete a variety of maintenance-type tasks such as change-overs, set-ups, pit stops, minor maintenance and adjustments, lubrication, etc.
- This position will be encouraged to complete training on upgrade and relief positions within the Process Cheese department.
- Accountable for the Safety, Health and Environmental systems and operational standards to ensure compliance as it is outlined in our policies/procedures and processes.
- Understand and apply KHMS (Kraft Heinz Management System) practices such as 5S, centerline management, shift hand-offs, operational standard ownership/support, problem solving, etc.
Minimum Requirements:
- Knowledge: Basic math, reading and communication.
- Working Environment: Primarily indoors with temperature ranges from lower 40s to upper 90s. Can be in hot/humid, or cool environment depending on job task. Can be exposed to wet conditions during sanitation. Will be required to work from Vertilifts, ladders, and platforming.
Qualifications:
- Able to acquire Fork Truck License.
Physical Requirements:
- Performs bending, squatting, kneeling, sorting, and reaching to both ground level and overhead
- Lifts, carries, pushes, lifts and grips objects; climbs stairs.
- Routinely pulls and moves up to 50 pounds
- Must possess manual dexterity vital to operate equipment and disassemble and reassemble equipment.
- Must be capable of standing while inserting components.
- Must be able to do sustained activity jobs.
