The Role
As a Maintenance Fitter, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation and reliability of our machinery and equipment. You will be responsible for performing breakdown repairs, preventative maintenance, and annual overhauls, as well as identifying and implementing improvements to enhance efficiency and reliability.
This is a hands-on role that requires flexibility to work across all shifts, including overtime, weekends, and public holidays. You will work closely with a small, passionate team in a supportive environment where your expertise will make a real impact.
Key Responsibilities:
Repairs and Maintenance: Respond to machinery breakdowns, perform repairs, and ensure the effective operation of all equipment to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.
Preventative Maintenance: Contribute to the development and execution of the annual preventative maintenance program and overhaul schedule.
Machinery Operation: Ensure the effective operation of all machinery and equipment.
Capital Works: Assist with the purchase, construction, and installation of new machinery as required.
Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for improvement and implement innovative solutions to enhance cost, quality, and service.
Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all Kraft Heinz Food Safety, Environmental, Health and Safety, and Ethical policies. Actively participate in safety initiatives and report any incidents or hazards.
Teamwork: Collaborate with colleagues, management, and external contractors to share knowledge and contribute to a positive team culture.
We're looking for someone with:

Experience in the food manufacturing industry.

Strong mechanical aptitude and engineering skills.

Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing faults in pumps, gearboxes, and other machinery.

Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, and steam processes is highly desirable.

Familiarity with filling, seaming, and packaging equipment is a plus.
Qualifications:

Mechanical trade certificate in fitting and machining.

Welding certificate (MMAW and GTAW processes).
