Job Description
Primary Purpose:
Under the direction of the Operations Supervisor, the Wet Mix Operator is primarily responsible for preparing and processing wet mix and other ingredients and operating various associated processes in Process Cheese.
Job Responsibilities:
- Must complete certification for Wet Mix processes within three months of accepting this position.
- Maintains quality standards by checking quality of (seals, code dates, labels, packaging of product, weights, odor, color, temperature of product, etc.) Takes samples of product to ensure Kraft quality.
- Maintains machinery in good operating condition by accurately cleaning and lubrication.
- Operates various scales and computing equipment to measure and manage weights.
- Loads appropriate containers onto machine for filling.
- Salvages product, as advised, from equipment.
- Dismantles, cleans, and reassembles assigned equipment according to Kraft standards and supervisor’s directions. Circulates lines, ensures Kraft cleaning parameters are met: Velocity temperature checks and soap testing. Performs sanitation duties when required. Perform & document all Period Cleaning items for Filling Equipment as the need arises.
- Ensures that housekeeping and Kraft quality standards are maintained in the work area.
- Ability to learn and demonstrate proficiency in MES applications.
- Performs other duties as advised by the Leadership Team.
- Assist with R&D Trials as needed!
- Communicate closely with Filling & Cooking.
- Coordinates the job duties or changes of duty during shift operations.
- Responsible for accurate decisions and advising the proper personnel when there are problems.
- Perform recordkeeping as the need arises on manual, computer and other systems. Includes Performance Boards & RAIL items.
- Accountable for the Safety, Health and Environmental systems and operational standards to ensure compliance as it is outlined in our policies/procedures and processes. Reports and/or corrects unsafe acts or conditions.
- Understand and apply KHMS (Kraft Heinz Management System) practices such as 5S, centerline management, shift hand-offs, operational standard ownership/support, problem solving, etc
Minimum Requirements:
- Knowledge: Basic math, reading and communication.
- Working Environment: Primarily indoors, in a wet, humid and steaming sanitation environment.
Qualifications:
- Able to acquire Fork Truck License.
Physical Requirements:
- Performs bending, squatting, kneeling, sorting and reaching to both ground level and overhead.
- Lifts, carries, pushes, routinely pulls and moves up to 55 pounds; holds and grips objects; must possess manual dexterity to operate equipment and disassemble and reassemble equipment.
