Senior Accountant, Lease & Debt Accounting at a Glance….
This Senior Accountant will play a critical role in the accounting and reporting of Kraft Heinz lease and debt obligations and in the accounting for various investments. The person in this role will be responsible for managing the daily, monthly, and quarterly accounting tasks associated with the above-mentioned areas, from recording journal entries to preparing disclosures for external reporting. This position will interact with Treasury, Financial Planning & Analysis, Business Units, Procurement, external auditors, and other external service providers. This position will perform technical accounting and SEC research to provide management with timely information for decision-making and analysis. The position will also assist in other significant projects, which vary based on the Company’s business transactions and priorities (e.g., acquisitions, divestitures, new policies, new types of transactions, training initiatives, benchmarking, etc.)
What’s on the menu?
- Accounting and reporting of lease activity using the Company’s lease accounting system
- Reviewing and assessing contracts for lease identification and associated accounting implications
- Reviewing, analyzing, and accounting for global external debt activity, including debt issuance, modification, and extinguishment
- Analyzing monthly external investment reporting from third party banks and preparing accounting entries to report the current period activity
- Partnering with procurement, treasury, and various business stakeholders in support of all leasing, debt, and investment activity
- Maintaining and performing SOX controls aligned with the leasing, debt, and investing processes
- Preparing required disclosures to support SEC filings
- Researching technical accounting matters and preparation of accounting memos
- Working with external auditors
- Assisting in significant projects related to M&A activity, financing transactions, financial system implementations, and other ad-hoc items

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA is preferred
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and SEC rules and regulations
- 2+ years of experience in accounting, audit, or finance role. Previous lease, debt, or investment accounting experience is a plus
- Ability to effectively prioritize multiple projects, while effectively operating in a fast-paced, complex global organization with shifting schedules and priorities
- Experience with SAP and Hyperion Financial Management is a plus
- Excellent interpersonal and conflict management skills
- Detail-oriented with the ability to work efficiently and achieve results, while maintaining high quality deliverables
- Excellent analytical, teamwork, customer service, and leadership skills

New Hire Base Salary Range:
$88,000.00 – $110,000.00
Bonus: This position is eligible for a performance-based bonus as provided by the plan terms and governing documents.
The compensation offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors
