Essential Functions & Responsibilities
The Quality Conformance Technician is responsible for ensuring conformance to Food Safety requirements through the analysis and documentation of key Food Safety programs. The role serves as the back up for the Food Safety Product Technician and assists with the hold program. They also will conduct studies and audits to guarantee compliance to our Food Safety requirements.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Qualified Individual to review/verification of preventive control and LACF records per the plant HACCP plan requirements and LACF.
- Will be the backup for the Lab Food Safety Product Technician and will assist in completing the required Hold inventories.
- Responsible for planning and conducting cooling studies to verify that product cools within the timeframe required by Corporate FSM.
- Responsible for CCP10 time/temperature validations a minimum of annually.
- Responsible for planning and conducting sorbic acid distribution studies for CCP6a and OPrP7 validations.
- Responsible for planning and collecting cheese blend analytical data of every formulation in the plant for validation of CCP6a, OPrP7 and OPrP10.
- Assists in blender investigations when there are out of specification products.
- Will assist in completing several Quality special projects requested by Corporate Quality.
- Conducts Performance Monitoring and sink audits.
- Is part of the pre-op inspection rotation conducting the pre-op inspections of all of the areas of the plant prior to the week’s production beginning.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive a culture of food safety excellence, fostering a proactive approach to risk management and continuous improvement.
- Must have a forklift license.
- Performs other duties as directed by Supervisor.
Working Conditions:
Fair to Good – Noise levels in departments require hearing protection. Working temperatures vary from 35-95 degrees. Hazards due to pulling product from bays. Job requires an extensive amount of walking as well as physical exertion while pulling cases off pallets. Must be aware of proper technique for disposal of lab chemicals. Responsible for lifting 10-45 lb. cases when pulling extra samples from the coolers. This occurs on a daily basis. Occasionally 500# drums of product must be removed from the Lab and placed on pallets. Responsible for restacking pallets if requested for a send out.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain one.
- Strong understanding of HACCP principles, LACF, CCP, and OPrP requirements in plant HACCP plans.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to manage records and inventories.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve quality and food safety objectives.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and other software applications
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
Training:
- The Quality Conformance Tech is trained for four weeks and is expected to be competent after 2 months. Individual must be trained and licensed to operate forklift equipment safely and be knowledgeable regarding Matrics/SAP, Hold/Release Policies, Root Cause Analysis, and HACCP/LACF requirements.
