JOB TITLE: PEELING ROOM OPERATOR
CLASSIFICATION: CLASS C
WAGE: $23.43
DEPARTMENT: PROCESS CHEESE – LEGACY

Primary Purpose:
- Responsible for operating respective equipment pertaining to the Salvage Presses in the Process Cheese Department.
- Days and shift times vary.
Job Responsibilities:
- Ability to learn and demonstrate proficiency in SAP application.
- Maintains Kraft Heinz Quality Standards by checking quality of seals, code dates, labels, packaging of product, weights, color, temperature of product, etc.
- Maintains all machinery in good operating condition by proper cleaning and lubrication to improve machine
optimization.
- Ensures that housekeeping and Kraft Heinz Quality Standards are maintained in the work area.
- Performs a variety of maintenance type functions such as change-over, set-up, minor maintenance and adjustments, lubrication, production programming, etc.
- Performs recordkeeping as the need arises on manual, computer and other systems; includes progress Boards & RAIL items.
- Coordinates the job duties or changes of duty during shift operations.
- Responsible to make the correct decisions and advising the proper personnel when there are problems.
- Trains new or inexperienced associates.
- Relieves other personnel as needed.
- Maintains proper machine efficiency.
- Guide sanitation duties when required.
- Actively participates as a team member.
- Reports and/or corrects unsafe acts or conditions
- Operates material handling equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
- Performs other duties as advised by Leaders or designee.
- Must maintain all equipment by applying the KHMS system and settings.
- Communicate closely with Raw Materials Coordinator.
- Perform & document all Period Cleaning items for Salvage Equipment and Room as the need arises.
- Accountable for the Safety, Health and Environmental systems and operational standards to ensure compliance as it is outlined in our policies/procedures and processes.
- Accountable for the QRMP (Quality Risk Management Process) system and operational standards as outlined in the Springfield QRMP accountability document.
- Able to communicate shift to shift daily to share information.
- Manage rework associates and all paperwork associated with rework process.
- Understand and apply KHMS (Kraft Heinz Management System) practices such as 5S, centerline management, shift hand-offs, operational standard ownership/support, problem solving, etc.
Minimum Requirements:
·Knowledge: Basic math, reading and communication.
·Working Environment: Primarily indoors with heating and cooling regulated in a general production environment; humid, wet conditions during sanitation.
Qualifications:
- Able to acquire Fork Truck License.
- Ability to learn and demonstrate proficiency in SAP application.
Physical Requirements:
- Performs bending, squatting, kneeling, sorting, and reaching to both ground level and overhead
- Lifts, carries, pushes, lifts and grips objects; climbs stairs.
- Routinely moves barrels up to 500 pounds; routinely lifts 50 pounds regularly.
Must possess manual dexterity vital to operate equipment and disassemble and reassemble equipment
