Job Purpose
The Director, EHS – Meats & Cheese holds overall EHS responsibility for the North America Zone – Meats & Cheese reporting to the Head of Zone EHS. The Director of EHS will lead the development and execution of the EHS NA strategy, the establishment of risk management processes and people capability to ensure compliance to relevant legislation, corporate standards, policies, and performance targets. Lead the development and delivery of robust Zone annual improvement plans for the KHC Safety and Environmental Performance, Business Continuity Management (BCM), Asset Conservation, and Facility Security.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Expert knowledge with at least 10-15 years’ experience in Operations.
- Setting and executing the strategy for NA Zone for Safety, ESG & Health.
- Lead the environmental, social, and governance strategy and overall ESG Compliance
- Robust governance process to ensure actions and initiatives are delivered on time and in full
- Ownership and accountable for EHS performance within BU
- Liaise and collaborate with Key partners at peer group level and above across all Supply Chain functions.
- To ensure compliance to corporate standards and to align with statutory requirements.
- Promote safety initiatives and lead the evolution for the safety culture.
- Standardize environment, health and safety processes and systems to remain consistent across the network.
- Compile safety programs and share best practice across the network.
- Role model best practice with safe working techniques, process and system application.
- Implement and hold partners accountable to environmental, health and safety standards.
- To drive continuous improvement toward global best practice in respect of all EHS work streams.
- Build overall capability of the BU team towards creating an interdependent culture.
Expected Experience & Required Skills
- Required experience includes working with external regulatory agencies, ergonomic analysis and application, behavior safety training and auditing.
- Ability to multitask and work in a team oriented fast-paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, presentation and facilitation skills
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to partner and communicate with all levels of the organization.
- Must exercise considerable judgment, problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Must be able to communicate and collaborate with all levels of the organization from senior leadership to hourly co-workers.
- Change management skills: ability to influence others and demonstrate managerial courage.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and hold other accountable
Work Environment & Schedule
This position is considered a Normal office environment with moderate travel to customer locations, stores, manufacturing facilities, etc.; offices are open workspaces Additionally, this role requires normal working hours and travel up to 50%.
