Finance Lead, Sales Finance – Grocery at a Glance….
The Finance Lead of Large Grocery customers (Publix, Meijer, HEB, Wakefern) serves as the voice of finance for Grocery Wholesales area’s largest customers. The Lead delivers results through collaboration on commercial business proposals, identifying trade spend optimization opportunities, analyzing financial variances to identify trends requiring action, leading monthly forecasting reviews, and partnering to build the annual operating plan.
What’s on the menu?
- Own all aspects of the P&L across Large Grocery customers (Publix, Meijer, HEB, Wakefern) serves and be able to articulate any changes in revenue or trade to Area Finance Director and Sales Area Vice President
- Lead annual sales planning and forecast processes by delivering data driven insights to help teams optimize plans and deliver on both Net Sales and Gross Margin objectives for customer group approximately $1.9B in Net Sales
- Provide leadership on pricing and promotional strategies and partner with Sales to identify opportunities to improve effectiveness and ROI of trade investments
- Lead cross-functional project to establish the strategic vision for Large Grocery by supporting plans to re-evaluate value-to-market, price pack architecture and strategic partnerships
- Partner with Revenue management team to proactively recommend trade optimization opportunities to Large Grocery Customer Vice Presidents
- Ensure financial controls by leading monthly trade reconciliation and budget management process
- Lead weekly & monthly rituals & routines and liaise among the Customer Vice President, Business Units and Revenue Management to ensure effective communication, prioritization and execution
- Develop and manage comprehensive set of Trade Controls and ensure compliance by Sales Team
- Financial analysis and scenario planning support for incremental trade proposals or strategic investments and subsequent negotiations

- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics or another quantitative field
- 5+ years of experience with proven track record of delivering results in finance, analytics, or quantitative consulting
- Trade promotion experience strongly preferred
- Ability to collaborate with cross functional business partners
- Disciplined approach toward execution, attention to detail, and ability to navigate within large and complex data environments
- Ability to effectively summarize complex information upwards and influence sales leadership to drive appropriate action
- Demonstrated ability to maintain flexibility in an ever-changing environment
