Job Summary
Leads the network of local factories in delivering high quality products to customers at the lowest cost by driving the production strategy and capital investment plan for each factory within the area, while ensuring adherence to safety standards and environmental regulations.
Responsibilities
• Directly responsible for the profitability and efficiency of multiple factories, including but not limited to; direct labor costs, overhead expenses, productivity, equipment utilization, quality assurance, food safety, maintenance, energy usage, waste generation, training programs, ISO certification, and customer service.
• Provides leadership to plant managers, directors, vice presidents, senior staff, and all other levels of management. Manages the professional development of key individuals within the organization.
• Responsible for communicating business results and strategies to the executive team. Accountable for developing and implementing operational improvement plans across all facilities.
• Oversees process innovation projects, automation initiatives, capital improvements, and new technology implementation. Coordinates activities with the regional sales and marketing teams as well as corporate personnel on issues such as supply chain logistics, regulatory compliance, governmental affairs, etc.
• Collaborates closely with the operations director on strategic initiatives and facilitates change efforts throughout the organization. Develops long-term plans for facility growth and expansion.
• Assists the Corporate Operations Director in the development of operating policies and procedures. Represents the organization in industry trade associations, professional organizations, community groups, and government agencies.
• Maintains appropriate records and reports for tracking performance against goals. Analyzes data and develops recommendations for continuous improvement.
• Participates in cross functional teams as needed to drive organizational effectiveness.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
• Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in manufacturing/operations or related field.
• Strong analytical skills coupled with excellent communication skills (written & verbal) are essential.
• Ability to effectively communicate complex ideas to others through clear writing and speaking skills.
• Highly developed interpersonal skills to interact effectively with internal departments, outside suppliers, vendors, contractors, and business associates.
• Experience working with adult learners to train employees.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques and ability to coach others in their application.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Willingness to relocate frequently within the US to support business needs.
