Scientist, Packaging Development
This is a research & development (R&D) packaging role providing the opportunity to drive innovation, renovation, productivity, and maintenance projects across the North American Refrigerated Kits category under the Meals & Kits platform. The candidate will be responsible for effectively crafting and performing tests, analyzing data, presenting results cross-functionally, and commercializing pipeline opportunities to meet business initiatives. This position requires an individual to independently manage multiple assignments/tasks concurrently and demonstrate the ability to drive results. Strong communication, leadership, and collaboration are essential in this role.
What’s on the menu?

Lead packaging development and consistently deliver results on all project types (e.g., NPD, productivity, operations, and maintenance) from concept to commercialization

Act as the packaging lead and work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure timely execution across projects

Simultaneously lead multiple projects with complex scopes, demonstrating exceptional project management skills

Provide support for general brand maintenance to ensure business continuity across multiple categories as needed

Collaborate with technical authorities, US/Category packaging scientists, and leverage technologies and applications

Manage technical timelines, effectively identify and communicate issues and risks, and develop contingency plans

Conduct lab tests, pilot plant trials, and large-scale factory trials to optimize packaging performance within manufacturing facilities

Write detailed specifications to ensure consistent & high-quality products

Maintain clear and comprehensive technical documentation

Bachelor's or master's degree in Packaging, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, or related fields

2-4 years of experience in packaging development and commercialization

In-depth understanding of packaging material interactions and functionality

Exceptional teamwork skills and ability to thrive in a collaborative environment

Highly motivated problem solver with a drive to achieve objectives in a complex environment

Ability to plan and execute well-thought-out design experiments, anticipate next steps, and adjust course when facing challenges

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Outstanding prioritization and project management abilities

Quick learner with the ability to adapt to new materials and processes rapidly

Willingness to travel up to 30%

New Hire Base Salary Range:
$75,600.00 – $94,500.00
Bonus: This position is eligible for a performance-based bonus as provided by the plan terms and governing documents.
The compensation offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors
