The Role:
Based at our Christchurch site, you will maintain a large ammonia refrigeration plant and ensure our we are operating in accordance to all Wattie’s Food Safety, Environmental, Health and Safety, and Ethical policies, programs and goals.
Your Responsibilities:

Complete tasks to ensure engine room refrigeration is running efficiently

Complete maintenance in a safe and timely manner

Hands on position and from time to time you will supervise staff and contractors in ammonia plant room.

Safe evacuation of plant/pipe work for maintenance.

Assist electrical staff in any areas of plant room to be on call on 24hr basis when required.

To complete weekly safety alarm testing.

Carry out computer work in regards to SOPs & TRAs for future training.

Ensuring all compressors have sufficient oil/ top up.

Assist shift fitters with set up and running.

Daily defrosting of all stores to ensure all temperatures are kept within spec.

To assist Production and Engineering when required.

Complete any other tasks as requested.
Your Skills:
-
Completed an apprenticeship in industrial refrigeration (Ammonia).
-
Completed Refrigeration – Enchem (Level 4) qualifications.
-
An understanding of factory operation and layout; and a specific understanding of the plant room.

Sound knowledge of H&S (eg, H&S rep for Engineering).
-
Practical and mechanical skills and experience (including the ability to read drawings).

Experience in heavy machinery operation.
