Job Description
As Process Technologist you will be responsible for daily understanding of complex problems and helping the factory to daily improve specifically in the processing side of the factory (kitchens, utilities). You will partner with production, maintenance, quality and/or engineering in root-cause analysis and join and leads focus team that either solve problems or improve for the future. You will contribute to the factories zero loss journey with your ownership and ability to solve problems within our operational excellence program (KHMS).
Within the Elst site, this position falls into the improvement department. The Improvement department is responsible for continuously improving the efficiency of the factory. This is done by improving OEE and improving other KPIs. In addition, the department ensures the correct implementation of new products (recipes), new packaging materials or new processes in the factory. This, of course, in close cooperation with production and other key stakeholders.
What are you going to do?
- Give daily support to the kitchen area of the factory, helping to analyze and solve processing related issues
- Support the implementation of New Product Development (NPD), Value engineering (VE) and Capex projects;
- Analyse, improve and validate existing production processes
- Give processing insight and technological support to different departments within the factory
- Initiate, develop and implement improvements regarding ingredients, packaging materials and cleaning processes
- process monitoring (SCADA) & monitor & improve other relevant KPI’s (OEE, Yield, Quality)
- Small modifications (continuously advise on improvements on the current processing (Yield, Downtime, automation, Digitization);
- Member of problem-solving teams (root cause analysis);
- Identify and execute process improvement projects (from troubleshooting or CI);
- Good understanding of process and product technology, knows how to convey this information to other groups of persons (operators, mechanics, team leaders).
- Collaborating with R&D colleagues from the Heinz Innovation Centre (Nijmegen) and/or other Heinz sites to make the implementation of new recipes or processes happen smoothly within the factory.
What are we looking for?
- Bachelor or Master degree in Process technology, Chemical Engineering, Food Engineering, Food technology etc.
- Preferably relevant experience (1-2 years) in a similar role
- You have knowledge of relevant company, safety, hygiene, quality, environmental, health & safety and HACCP guidelines
- You can give substance to continuous improvement processes and you can participate in Root-Cause Analysis
- You have the competences needed to lead and initiate projects
- Decision Making & Problem Solving: Demonstrated use of analytical problem-solving and decision-making methods and techniques.
- You are result-oriented, have good communication skills and a good knowledge of the Dutch and English languages, both verbally and in writing
