The Role
We are looking for a motivated and proactive Maintenance Fitter who can work autonomously with minimal supervision, as well as part of a team. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of preventive and predictive maintenance and be able to identify faults and perform breakdown repairs to minimise downtime. If you have a mechanical trade qualification, experience in a fast-paced food and beverage processing environment, and excellent problem-solving skills, we encourage you to apply.
Key Responsibilities:

Identify faults and perform breakdown repairs to minimise downtime and micro-stops
-
Inspect, test, and maintain machinery and equipment in process and packaging areas
-
Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on general plant and building maintenance work
-
Install and commission new equipment
-
Undertake specific project work, such as building prototypes and refurbishing aging equipment
-
Conduct machine/product changeovers
-
Prioritise breakdown and PM activities within the weekly schedule
-
Perform tasks as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor, Electrical Supervisor, Maintenance Manager, or their designates
We're looking for someone with:

Mechanical trade qualification (minimum Certificate III or equivalent)
-
Experience in a fast-paced food and beverage processing environment (FMCG)
-
Understanding of computerised maintenance management systems
-
Site services experience (steam boilers, air compressors, wastewater treatment plants)
-
Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and spare parts manuals
-
Practical mechanical experience in the usage of hand and power tools
-
Welding experience (MAW and TIG welding highly desired)
-
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
-
Strong communication skills
-
Hands-on approach and ability to work autonomously and as part of a team

Eligibility to work in Australia
Desirable:

Forklift license
-
Confined space entry license
-
Work at Heights training
-
Experience with automation or robotics
-
Computer skills (Microsoft suite, computerised maintenance management system)
