We have an exciting opportunity for a Food Safety and Quality professional to join our team, where you will play a key role in ensuring the quality and safety of our products and driving business growth.

Key position responsibilities include, but not limited to:

Lead four direct reports in the FSQ department demonstrating strong leadership skills

Support the FSQ department and Site with the quality risk management programme (Q-RMP) requirements and implementation of action plans, including providing technical training to factory staff and conducting risk assessments.

Investigate and document incidents, and report Edify & other Quality KPI, to ensure effective investigation and outcomes of quality incidents, internal and external complaints.

Participate in the FSQ department internal audit schedule and validation schedule, and conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with quality standards.

Assist with projects and decisions regarding product sampling and testing, and represent the FSQ department in new product, process, or packaging developments.

Provide quality module training to other departments, and support the FSQ departments responsibilities for reporting and steering meetings.

Manage non-conforming product and ensure traceability of finished goods and raw materials, and validate critical control points (CCPs) to ensure food safety and quality.

Support investigation of quality incidents, internal and external complaints, and respond to customer complaints in a timely and thorough manner, using risk assessment and root cause analysis for decision making.

Provide quality support and training to operations staff, and contribute to reporting and steering meeting requirements, to drive continuous improvement in food safety and quality.
About you:

Possess good interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders
-
Have experience with quality risk assessment and decision-making ability on product food safety & quality

Demonstrate a high level of computer literacy, with proficiency in relevant software and systems
-
Show a high level of personal integrity and sense of right and wrong, with strong character and a proactive approach
-
Have a growth mindset, with a willingness to learn and adapt to new situations and challenges
-
Possess technical experience in the food industry, with a strong understanding of food safety and quality principles
-
Are able to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on achieving results and driving continuous improvement
-
Currently hold a degree in Food Science, Quality Assurance, or a related field, or have equivalent technical experience in the food industry
-
Eligibility to work in New Zealand with full working rights.
