Job Description
Under the direction of Safety and HR with a dotted line to Operations Supervisor, the Safety & Training Tech will be responsible for ensuring safety compliance, furthering the adoption of KHMS values and principals, and that new and transferring employees are thoroughly trained (and that training is documented) for both safety compliance and job-specific information. The Tech must be capable of both giving the training and verifying the training. The Tech will also create and update safety and training documents as needed.
This position will utilize DPSs for training new hires, transfers, upgrades, and certification of current team members. This position ensures that the knowledge required to perform the position has been effectively transferred from the trainer to the trainee, and will document completion of training. This position will leverage KHMS tools and trainings to facilitate growth in a culture. This position will also use compliance tools to ensure the factory stays up to date on all safety topics.
RELATED DUTIES INCLUDE:
Auditing safety conditions and responding in a prompt manner to safety needs for their shift (this includes a multitude of responsibilities such as accident investigation and reporting, submission of work orders/needs, follow up on outstanding items, utilizing CWP to document defects and their status, etc) Lead various KHMS EHS sections in regards to audit compliance in regards to both OSHA and Kraft’s Corporate EHS Standards and Expectations. Conduct annual inspections of LOTO procedures of authorized employees and annual audit of equipment-specific procedures. Participate in Safety Committee Meetings, as well as training as required for the position. Perform on-the-job training, new hire orientation training, and green room training as needed. Verify training of new hires and current employees in new roles, including safety training and DPS information, and maintain related recordkeeping, recertifying as needed. Maintain accuracy of the job-training matrix for the shift. Monitor changes in job training documentation and communicate those changes by updating the DPSs using the change approval process. Maintain a thorough understanding of the DPSs and how they are used in job certification. Learn new platforms and standards as needed Miscellaneous duties as assigned for the orderly and efficient running of the plant.
