Primary Purpose:
Coordinate all activities of the assigned area, by providing daily leadership and direction within these teams to deliver the Key Performance Indicators of Quality, Cost, Delivery, Safety and Morale. The Leader will have the ability to demonstrate strong leadership and communication skills. Innovative and proactive in pursuing opportunities to continually improve the overall production operation of the department. Possesses familiarity with equipment and able to train associates in the proper production and operation techniques. Ensure that business goals are achieved while continually reinforcing employee empowerment and ensuring that developmental activities are ongoing.
Job Responsibilities:
- Ensure line staffing needs are met
- Apply company policies and practices in a fair and consistent manner.
- Maintain a positive working relationship with ALL associates.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
- Take initiative to achieve results and promote continuous improvement.
- Coach and mentor team members, helping them with role assigned to them.
- Understanding of production and sanitation theories and procedures, i.e., QCMS.
- Supportive of plant and department goals.
- Participate in 30/60/90 process and Personal Improvement Plan
- Understand and apply KHMS (Kraft Heinz Management System) practices such as 5S, centerline management, shift hand-offs, operational standard ownership/support, problem solving, etc.
- Accountable for the Safety, Health and Environmental systems and operational standards to ensure compliance as it is outlined in our policies/procedures and processes.
- Provide hands-on support for projects occurring in the department. Ensures all costs are charged to R&D
- Demonstrate and coach Progress board commitment to standards.
- Understand and apply KHMS (Kraft Heinz Management System) practices such as 5S, centerline management, shift hand-offs, operational standard ownership/support, problem solving, etc.
Safety:
- Follow Safety Trigger Protocols, BOS and QRP standards.
- Zero recordables on shift. Ensure all safety training is complying.
- Complete Corrective action on near misses/incident report; get to root cause and work with supervisor to develop standards to prevent.
- Ensure JPHA’s are followed, represent Kraft Heinz standards, and reflect corrective actions from previous incidents.
Quality:
- Demonstrate commitment to vital issues, i.e., sanitation inspections, extraneous, GMP’s infestation, and back dating product.
- Demonstrate Right-First –Time mentality and coach associates to mistake free standard.
- Ensure Quality/Sanitation documentation (electronic/paper) is being completed and is correct.
- Responsible for compliance to FDA, OSHA, Kraft Heinz GMP, and Plant Production Guidelines, to ensure that work area is maintained in satisfactory condition to meet and exceed internal and external audits.
Loss and Waste:
- Ensure Conformance to Plan is obtained applying CIL’s, PMs, and Centerline execution. Work with shift leads to maintain equipment capability at base condition. Assist team with troubleshooting to identify root cause and implement standards.
- Ensure Weight control to target capability.
- Ensure scrap to target is achieved and coach shift leads toward reduction of target. Disposition Holds and Faulty Goods to meet CTP and quality standards.
- Prepare labor schedule to ensure staffing meets CTP without waste.
- Review and correct as needed any payroll time clock issues.
- Ensure Housekeeping is acceptable, and area meets 5S standards.
- Ensure training is Planned, Time-based, Relevant, Measured and that goals are set and achievable. Support and mentor the team on a consistent basis to provide opportunity for optimal achievement and to identify gaps for improvement.
Qualifications:
- Good oral and written communication skills are a must for this position.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Must have a solid understanding of basic computer functions, and good math and reading skills.
- Typing skills and a solid understanding or ability to learn SAP, Kronos, OEE, Quality Suite, Word, and Excel.
- Perform all other duties as assigned my management.
- Tolerant, mature, responsible adult temperament, seriousness to job, capable of accepting constructive criticism, while working in a fast-paced environment.
- Overtime and hours may vary as the need arises.
- Self-motivated, able to multi-task and work independently.
- Punctual and reliable.
Physical Requirements:
- Performs bending, squatting, kneeling, sorting, ascending, and descending moves up to 50 pounds.
- Holds and grips objects; must possess manual dexterity vital to operate equipment, disassemble and reassemble equipment.
