Job Description
Basic Purpose: To ensure that Cool Whip® emulsion is cooled, aged, processed, whipped, filled, lidded, weighed, properly coded, and sent to the packaging area efficiently and safely to provide the highest level of quality and delivery to our customers.
Responsibilities/Duties:
Perform weekend cleaning and sanitizing activities. Including but not limited to CIPS, chemical usage and handling, working with strawman hoses (hot and cold water), hopper, miscellaneous production equipment, filler cleaning, floor scrubbing, production-sanitation preventative maintenance tasks, manifold y-pipe cleaning/changing, and period cleaning. Performs changeover cleaning/sanitizing and production activities. This will include but not be limited to cleaning and sanitizing fillers, hoppers, manifolds, y-pipes, sparge tube hoses, and miscellaneous parts. Communicate with the Supervisor or group leader about product changeover and any other information necessary to ensure the specified degree of quality and efficiency. Perform sanitation and CIP cleaning of processing equipment: safe use and handling of chemicals. Perform (as needed) changing and cleaning of sparge tube and hopper manifolds. Operate, maintain quality specifications, and perform minor adjustments on the holding, pumping, and whipping equipment. Safe operation of the bowl dispensing equipment to provide bowls to the filler in the specified degree of quality and efficiency. Understands and has sufficient ability for the safe operation of all the components of the Cherry-Burrell fillers. Knowledge and understanding of control and drive power differences. Knowledge and understanding of all Lockout tag-out requirements for the Cherry-Burrell fillers, ALH system, all applicable conveying systems, and all CIP components as appropriate. Understands and operates filler jam detection system. Visually inspects filler beds and monitors for jams and other filler bed issues and correctly responds to alarms safely and promptly. Cleans filler jams in a safe and timely manner. Understand and demonstrate the safe and efficient operation of the Panel mates and Lid/Filler HMIs (Human Machine Interface). Understands the Safe operation of the Auto lid handling systems and has adequate operating capabilities of the ALH system and all associated hardware. Operate all components of the weight control system. This includes adherence to all quality and regulatory weight control guidelines. Knowledge, operation, and use of all components of the OEE system. This will include all associated quality record-keeping. Communicates with platform operator for out-of-spec and/or remelt conditions; also monitors remelt system so that the line won’t freeze up and knows how to thaw it. Keeps appropriate amount of SS waste carts staged to support remelt activity. Dumps remelt carts as required. Performs safe and efficient manual lid loading when not using ALH systems. Qualified – Certified on the safe operation of all applicable powered equipment and correctly fills out the “Powered Equipment Inspection” form. Compliance with Corporate POG, Plant DPS, Plant Safety, and GMP programs. Follow all HACCP guidelines. Adherence to all QRMP standards and protocols. Understand where to find the current Production Schedule and how to read it to ensure the correct supplies are staged and used. Stages all appropriate packaging materials and supplies as required in adherence with all departmental quality, safety, and GMP guidelines. This includes but is not limited to the accurate completion of packaging traceability forms and material reject forms. Maintain a clean and orderly work and staging area to ensure the specified degree of cleanliness and sanitation standards. Observe all safety rules, precautions, and practices to ensure the safety of self and others. Place trash, remelt, and/or waste products in proper containers and move them to designated areas. Dumps all trash receptacles as required. Appropriately cleans and prepares the work area at the end of the shift. Removes plastic bags to wire cage and exchanges cage when full with empty cage from N/S hallway. Record on various forms or computers results of QC testing, downtime, audits, In-process index numbers for the “Green Room”, and equipment performance data.
Hourly pay: $21.92

Other Responsibilities:
- Recognize and report to the Supervisor any unusual condition or defective equipment.
- Observe all safety rules, precautions, and practices to ensure the safety of self and others.
- Preventative maintenance activities as assigned.
- Period cleaning as assigned.
- Rework activities as assigned.
- Train additional personnel in this operation as required
- Participate in the QRMP yearly audit and assist in the development of procedures and corrective actions
- Perform all other duties that the Supervisor or Group Leader may assign.
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk and hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move 50 – 100 pounds, requesting assistance as necessary.
Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. During his/her career, the employee will be exposed during his/her career to high noise levels, chemicals, frozen products, fumes or airborne particles, constant stair climbing, and slippery floors.
Personal Protective Equipment: The employee is regularly required to wear company-authorized safety shoes, hearing protection, safety glasses, gloves, rubber boots, chemical protection, and other personal protective equipment to perform the functions of this job safely and successfully.

•Conversational Speaking – Speak on a one-to-one basis using appropriate vocabulary and grammar to obtain information, explain policies and procedures, and discuss various job-related topics on short or no notice.
Quality testing and record-keeping duties of this position make it necessary for the operator to read, write and perform basic arithmetic calculations. Applicants will be requested to demonstrate ability in these areas before bids are awarded.
Demonstrated proficiency in using computer applications.
Ability to work independently with minimal guidance and as part of a team.
