Job Description

Location: Kraft-Heinz Worcester

Salary: £30,000 – £34,000 depending on experience

Working hours: 2pm – 10pm, 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday

Role

As a Food Manufacturing environment Worcester Kraft Heinz has a key focus on FSQ and their pivotal role in our performance. This role will embody food safety and quality across site as part of the FSQ team, and be responsible for day to day Quality Assurance activities while ensuring raw material and finished product quality by sampling, testing and auditing, including both manufacture of product and the cleaning of the production lines.

Key Components of the role

To collect following samples, log details within the allocated tracker, communicate with third party lab tests required for analytical and microbiology, submit requested test, and prepare and send samples for testing, log and share any non-conforming results immediately with reporting manager.

Maintain onsite lab area, conducting calibration on test equipment, maintain hygiene of lab area and equipment pH meter, auto titrator, Brookfield viscosity meter, refractometer, density meter, colorimeter.

To collect all production quality process paperwork records completed for the previous shift, review them for completion, check any non-conforming documentation, raise findings and segregated finished product manually and on electronic SAP systems.

To complete physical and chemical analysis on raw materials and finished product as part of positive release and produce certificates of analysis for products.

Supervise and complete product assessment panel, including pack appearance and product taste, record results.

Manage customer enquires related to product complaints, attributes and product specifications.

Segregate non-conforming product (raw materials / packaging / intermediate and finished product) to prevent use and supply key relevant information from the segregated product, to enable investigation and recommend action to be taken.

Play a key role in maintaining, developing and improving systems such as; control of non-conforming goods, hygiene tracker, calibration tracker, raw material sampling.

Carry out performance monitoring and golden rule audits to Company standards to schedule, agree corrective actions and monitor to completion.

Process purchase orders for FSQ activities on site.

To attend the following meetings and feedback problems from the previous day/shift to production and engineering and take away technical actions.

  • Level 1 shift meetings
  • Weekly team meetings
  • 1-2-1 weekly / coaching sessions
  • Monthly Quality steering meetings
  • HACCP Meetings

Support with third party contractors such as pest control, calibration of equipment, laundry, chemical providers.

Attend and support with third party audit preparation and compliance, such as Halal, Kosher, BRCGS, Customers, EHO and Trading standards.

Support production operatives on key areas of quality compliance and laboratory testing as well as delivering training on site of FSQ related processes. Assist in the generation, training-out and signing-off of quality and food safety toolbox talks and induction training on site.

Support R&D/ Process improvement trials, collaboration with production, collecting trial samples.

Support with evidence collecting and investigation to compliance for KHMS Food Safety and Quality chapter.

Produce data from previous weeks quality activities such as: (Examples only)

– Right First Time – product segregated

  • Environmental monitoring results
  • Complaints

– Non-conforming – Raw materials / packaging

  • Quality incidents
  • Performance Monitoring findings
  • Process Paperwork Non- conformances
  • Golden Rules reported red / green.

Support with maintenance of raw material and packaging, pack specifications and raw material questionnaires.

Support with the change control process, assist with capital projects taking place within the site.

To support other activities and personnel within the food safety and quality team.

Skills & Requirements:

  • Training will be provided for all aspects of the role.
  • Food Safety and HACCP Training beneficial but not essential (training will be given to the right person)
  • Food Science or related qualification and experience beneficial but not essential
  • Foundation of understanding in Biology, Chemistry or related food science.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English language.
  • Strong IT skills. At a minimum proficiency in Microsoft office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
